Libreria: The Imbibliotheque – an evening of drink, scent & literature

25 Feb 2016

 / 7:00pm to 9:00pm
 / Free

Swig and sniff your way through 20th-century fiction as Lizzie Ostrom (author of Perfume: A Century of Scents) and Henry Jeffreys (drinks writer for The Guardian) look at how – and why – novelists write about booze and smell.

Join us at Libreria, London's newest and most innovative bookshop, as we jump from Patrick Hamilton to Patricia Highsmith, from modernism to melodrama, while the drinks are poured and the scents passed around. Tickets £15 including tastings. Over 18s.

With the generous support of Brighton Gin.

About Lizzie:

Otherwise known as Odette Toilette, scent-lover Lizzie Ostrom has been hosting olfactory events since 2010. She's hosted nights on the scent of outer space, a Greek scent symposium, and a Japanese incense ceremony. Her first book, Perfume: A Century of Scents is about the cultural history of perfume in the 20th century.@odettetoilette

About Henry:

Henry was The Lady magazine's first ever wine correspondent. He writes about booze for The Guardian and The Spectator and his book, Empire of Booze, will be published this autumn by Unbound.@HenryGJeffreys
