We’re looking for the right candidate to fill the role of Accounting Assistant, to support the Senior Accountant by performing daily accounting tasks including managing expense reports and reimbursements, entering financial transactions into our internal databases and reconciling invoices.

What you’ll be doing

  • Processing transactions, issuing checks, and updating ledgers, budgets, etc.
  • Preparing financial reports.
  • Assisting with audits, fact checks, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Reconcile invoices
  • Create and update expense reports
  • Process reimbursement forms
  • Prepare bank deposits
  • Enter financial transactions into internal databases
  • Check spreadsheets for accuracy
  • Maintain digital and physical financial records
  • Issue invoices to customers and external partners, as needed
  • Review and file payroll documents
  • Participate in quarterly and annual audits
  • Working and communicating with vendors
  • Other duties as assigned

Who you are

  • Work experience as an Accounting Assistant or Accounting Clerk or Bookkeeper
  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures
  • Familiarity with finance regulations
  • Familiarity with CA Sales Tax/BOE
  • Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
  • Hands-on experience with MS Excel is a must
  • Organization skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information

Bonus if you have

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
  • Experience with Concur
  • Experience with Xero
  • Experience running payroll
  • Experience in hospitality and/or restaurant industry
  • Experience with local, state and federal tax agencies
