Lisbon Member and product designer at Gaspard+Bruno, Ana Rodrigues has created an independent platform to list small businesses across the entire country – cafes, grocery stores, bakeries, laundries, wine shops, etc – which are still doing deliveries or pick up services.

Lisbon Solidarity Network – volunteer deliveries

Lisbon City Council has started a new initiative Rede de Solidária de Lisboa Covid-19 to gather volunteers to support the most vulnerable during this crisis – the elderly, people with disabilities and suspected cases of Covid-19 in isolation. Support includes grocery shopping, delivering food and medicine, walking pets and other related tasks.

Deloitte – support measures for companies and employees

Consultancy Deloitte Portugal has put together a report with support measures for companies and employees to helps us navigate these unprecedented times. Based on the Portuguese Governments recently implemented measures, this includes tax measures, economic and activity funding, and support for continuity of business activities and employment.

Festival Iminente Emergency Edition

Urban arts & music festival Iminente is hosting a special emergency edition on their instagram, on Saturday 4 April from 4pm until 11.20pm. Tickets are donation based and all profits go towards supporting two reference hospitals for coronavirus cases in Lisbon and Porto. The line-up is brilliant – be sure not to miss it!

Food banks in Hackney are really struggling with donations. Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on stricter social distancing measures, keep an eye on the Trussell Trust website about how you can donate urgent food items in your area.

East London Cares, a local charity connecting younger and older neighbours, have suspended all of their social clubs to protect the community. To continue supporting older neighbours who may feel lonely at this time, they are collecting letters, stories, drawings, video messages, poems and book and film recommendations to show them we’re thinking of them.
