Gender equity is still one of the main aspects most companies have yet to solve today – Women still earn less than men for performing the same tasks and are offered less senior leadership positions.
Ikea is one of the companies leading the way. Their ambition is to reach gender equality at Ingka Group which goes beyond a 50/50% gender balance in all levels and positions, but also creates an inclusive culture where all genders are valued for their unique contributions.
Hear Retail Manager at Ikea Portugal Helen Duphorn discuss actions the company took to address gender equity, and how it has improved business.
Helen has also co-founded IKEA Women Open Network (IWON) – an internal forum to discuss gender equality issues, where gender biases in policies and rules are openly discussed among all and subsequently improvements in working practices are introduced.
