Renowned FGM activist and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Jaha Dukereh comes to Second Home Holland Park, for an intimate screening of Jaha’s Promise – a film about her life and activism to end FGM in her home country of Gambia.

A survivor of FGM, and forced into child marriage at age 15, Dukureh has dedicated her efforts to support UN Women’s advocacy to end female genital mutilation (FGM) and child marriage in Africa, with focus on mobilising youth. In 2018 she was appointed the Regional UN Women Ambassador for Africa.

Ms. Dukureh is the CEO and Founder of the NGO “Safe Hands for Girls” that provides support to African women and girls who are survivors of FGM and addresses its lifelong, harmful physical and psychological consequences.

Joining her will be FGM activist Nimco Ali and from the Pink Protest, Grace Campbell and Alice Aedy.
