Alan Rusbridger – Play It Again: An Amateur Against the Impossible

Hear journalist and former editor-in-chief of The Guardian Alan Rusbridger in conversation with Second Home co-founder Rohan Silva.

They’ll be discussing Alan’s book Play It Again: An Amateur Against the Impossible – his journal of a year spent attempting to learn Chopin’s First Ballade.

The task proves difficult not just because of the extreme complexity of the piece, but due to a range of world events that impact on Rusbridger’s practise time.

Play It Again is thus a mixture of political and musical reportage, interweaving meditations on music-making with reflections on the ever-changing newspaper industry.

Tickets are free for members and £3 for non-members.

All proceeds from our cultural programme go to the Kibera Hamlets School in Nairobi, where Second Home has funded the construction of a new school building designed by our architects Selgas Cano.
