Join us for a screening of director Pat Collins' 'Silence' (2012) at Second Home.
In this film what we hear (if we’re prepared to pay attention) is as intriguing, informative and important as what we see.
Eoghan is a sound recordist who is returning to Ireland for the first time in 15 years. The reason for his return is a job offer: to record landscapes free from man-made sound. His quest takes him to remote terrain, away from towns and villages.
Much of the film is people-free: hills, moors, scarps, rivers, woods, sky, deserted buildings seen from afar or from intimately close.
