Hear award-winning authors Brit Bennett (The Vanishing Half, The Mothers) and Ayelet Waldman (A Really Good Day, Love and Treasure) discuss writing, parenting, and life in a world haunted by our shared and differentiated histories.
Brit’s debut novel The Mothers was a New York Times bestseller, and her second novel The Vanishing Half was an instant #1 New York Times bestseller. In 2021, she was chosen as one of Time’s Next 100 Influential People.
Ayelet is an award-winning author, essayist and screenwriter. She was also a Federal public defender and an adjunct professor at the UC Berkeley law school where she developed and taught a course on the legal implications of the War on Drugs.
The event is in support of 826LA – a non-profit organisation based at Second Home Hollywood that helps young students develop their creative and expository writing skills. Join us in supporting them here.
826LA supporters who have donated $500 or more in the past year are invited to a pre-event meet-and-greet with the authors (where you’ll also learn more about our next amazing event, Changing the Story: A Field Trip to 826LAND). Separate invitation to follow.
It’s not too late – you can still make a donation to 826LA here.
