Choose Love: Fundraising Film Night - "For Sama"

Join us on April 23rd for an evening centred around a deeply powerful and heartwarming film that tells a story of love, resilience, and bravery – one that mirrors the experiences of many individuals displaced by war around the world.

We’re excited to partner with our cherished member Jemma from Seismic, who will be running the Hackney Half Marathon in support of her chosen charity, Choose Love. All funds raised will be donated to this incredible cause.

Choose Love, a movement dedicated to turning love into action. Since 2015, Choose Love has been providing emergency aid and life-changing support to displaced communities across the globe, working with local partners in over 50 countries and raising millions to support refugees.

Screening of “For Sama” starts at 7:30pm, and with the donation ticket, you will get a drink and snack.

“For Sama” (2019) is a documentary by Waad al-Kateab and Edward Watts, chronicling Waad’s five years in war-torn Aleppo during the Syrian conflict. It is a personal letter from Waad to her daughter, Sama, documenting her experiences of love, motherhood, and the horrors of war, while her husband, a doctor, works to save lives.
