Join authors Georgina Lawton and Natalie Morris in conversation at Libreria in celebration of the paperback release of their books, Raceless and Mixed Other.
Georgina Lawton is a ‘twentysomething’ journalist, speaker and author of the non-fiction books Black Girls Take World, released last year, and Raceless, which was published in February 2021 and named a Guardian, Sunday Times, Evening Standard and Bustle book of the year. Raceless was also critically acclaimed by the Sunday Times and New York Times and has sold over 10,000 copies in the UK and US. A Guardian Weekend columnist and regular freelance contributor for the paper, she also writes for a number of other publications such as: The Independent, ipaper, Evening Standard, Stylist, gal-dem, Travel + Leisure, VICE, Time Out London and more. She is also a broadcaster and host of the Audible podcast on DNA tests called, The Secrets In Us. Georgina appears regularly on Radio 1, BBC 5Live, Sky News and BBC Newsnight.
Natalie Morris is an author and journalist, originally from Manchester but now living in London. Her first book Mixed/Other is a non-fiction exploration of the joys, complexities and nuances that come with having mixed heritage. The debut was featured as a must-read in the New Statesman and Refinery29 and was nominated for the Bad Form Book of the Year 2021. As a journalist, Natalie writes about identity, race and social injustice, but also has a focus on mental health, culture and women in the workplace. Most recently, she was Deputy Lifestyle Editor at Metro.co.uk, and before this she worked as a broadcast journalist and producer at ITV News. She has also been published in the Guardian, the Independent, the Telegraph, gal-dem, Stylist, Grazia and others, and makes regular appearances on BBC radio 4, 5Live, BBC London and Woman’s Hour, discussing her work.
