The Guardians of the Amazon are an incredibly inspiring and brave group of Indigenous Guajajara people from Brazil who are putting their lives on the line to save their forest home from destruction.

Survival International, the global movement for tribal peoples, supports the Guardians’ work, fights alongside them for their land to be protected, and helps amplify their voices on the global stage.

We’re honoured to be able to offer the special opportunity to meet and talk with Olimpio Guajajara, one of the Guardians’ leaders. Join us for a powerful evening to learn more about his urgent appeal to raise awareness about the dangers facing his people as they fight tirelessly to protect the forest, their home and our planet.

Bom dia friend,

We’re sending you these words today because we need you. Our forest is being invaded by illegal loggers, right now.

It’s an emergency. We patrol, we find the loggers, we destroy their equipment and we send them away. We’ve stopped many loggers. It’s working.

We constantly receive death threats from the logging gangs. Five of us have been killed. But we continue, as our forest is our life. Without it, we would all be dead.

Our uncontacted Awá relatives also live in the forest. They cannot survive if it’s destroyed. As long as we live, we will fight for the uncontacted Awá, for all of us, and for nature.

Please help us to protect our forest. We will never give up.

Thank you,
The Guardians

DJ Cal Jader will be bringing his trademark blend of Brazilian beats and carnival rhythms to the evening, so join us after the talk to transform its power into joy, action and resistance through dance.

This event is part of Second Home’s global initiative Reclaiming Amazônia – supporting Indigenous people’s resistance in their fight to protect the world’s most important ecosystems from being destroyed.

All the money raised from ticket sales will go directly to the Guardians of the Amazon to help fund their urgent work.
