After 3 back to back sold out events at the beginning of 2023… it’s only right that Kick Back Cinema (KBC) makes a comeback!

Join your host, Iara Borges for the 4th Kick Back Cinema event ‘Summer’s Last Sunset’. It’ll be an evening filled with a fantastic selection of short films followed by a panel talk/q&a with emerging director Kasey Blondell and award winning director (and KBC veteran), R. M. Moses.

Kick Back Cinema aims to focus on sharing stories from around the world, showcasing a multitude of different genres. Iara began KBC at the start of lockdown as a way to explore and discuss films and in the process, create friendships during a lonely time. What originally started off as a wanting for community during lockdown has in time become these evenings of film and conversation. Kick Back Cinema’s main focus has always been community, we love to get to know our audiences! During our Valentine’s day event in 2023, ‘All About Love’, the audience was actually the panel. Iara opened up a conversation discussing all things love. This lead to a discussion where strangers learn a little more about each other; speaking on topics such as self love or romantic love, how they related to a certain character or situation in one of the films and so much more.

Not only is she that one loud receptionist, Iara is also an actress, producer, writer and events curator. She is the founder and curator of Kick Back Cinema and Co-Founder of Cryptic Studios.

We’ll also have goodies from Blanco Nino and Something&Nothing.
