Did you know that 14% of LA county land is used for parking?!

As developers and designers dream up new uses for expansive parking lots we may see a shift in the future. Second Home Hollywood is a great example of this, having turned a large lot into a lush garden. What will replace all this parking space? Will a drop in parking lead to a reduction in driving — or a lot of annoyed Angelenos?

Join KCRW/DnA host Frances Anderton; planning and parking code expert Mark Vallianatos; James Sanders, head of the Woods Bagot study "MORE LA: Transforming Parking to Places in Southern California"; Chris Nichols, editor at LA Magazine and devotee of diagonal parking, and Second Home’s Rohan Silva for a discussion on parking lots in urban planning and how reimagining their usage is shaping LA’s future.
