Roxane Gay, New York Times bestselling author of Bad Feminist, and Abbi Jacobson, star and co-creator of Comedy Central’s hit series Broad City, will be in conversation to kick off The Great Human Series presented by the Corita Art Center in partnership with Second Home and KCRW.

Illustrator and author Lisa Congdon will make introductory remarks.

The Great Humans Series is a contemporary reboot of the influential lecture series organize in the 1960s by the late artist and educator, Corita Kent.
Enjoy an inspiring and rebellious evening embodying Corita’s ethos of hope, love and justice.

In the ‘60s, Corita was a cultural icon: a pioneering practitioner of Pop art, an outspoken advocate for social justice, and life-changing arts educator. Corita’s work reflected her concerns about poverty, racism, and war, and her messages continue to resonate with audiences today.

The Corita Art Center preserves and promotes Corita’s artistic and educational legacy and passion for social justice.
