Assistant General Manager – Job Description

Site: Spitalfields/Clerkenwell 

Salary from £25k up to £35k DOE

 

To lead, manage and motivate a team to deliver the Second Home brand and vision. To run an  efficient, commercial, and profitable operation. To always keep the member’s best interest at heart  by delivering exceptional levels of member experience.

Key Responsibilities 

  1. Support GM to manage the site to achieve of the site KPIs, which are related to occupancy, revenue, NPS, and operational efficiency
  2. Organise member-only community and social events
  3. Work with the GM to identify and develop new revenue opportunities for the site
  4. Recruit, retain and motivate an effective front of house and facilities team on the ground.
  5. Ensure the site is an example of operational excellence via: member experience, facilities, studio management, marketing / events
  6. Work with the GM to create new systems and improve existing ones, improving operational efficiency
  7. Carry out bi-annual member satisfaction surveys and feedback results
  8. Troubleshoot issues effectively and commercially; balance aesthetic & brand considerations, with viable commercial and long-term solutions and member satisfaction
  9. Effectively communicate and liaise with all site-based team members to ensure smooth day to-day operations
  10. Oversee Second Home rituals and member events, ensuring they are delivered regularly and in line with brand guidelines
  11. Work with Safety and Facilities Manager to ensure the site is safe & secure for members, visitors and staff
  12. Work with our Buildings team to ensure the building and facilities are operating seamlessly

The Ideal Candidate 

  • Strategic and intelligent in thought and approach
  • Operational expert; Facilities, F&B, Membership, Customer Service, Marketing – able to troubleshoot in all areas & manage specialist teams
  • Commercially & operationally driven
  • Politically astute; good at reading people and situations
  • Diplomatic and considered in management style
  • Confidence to challenge where necessary
  • Growth mindset; a willingness to learn, and take both constructive criticism and advice
  • Decisive, but fair
  • Persuasive & articulate; an excellent communicator
  • Customer service experience (with responsibility) is ideal
