Author of Murmur, Will Eaves and UCL neuroscientist Dr Sophie Scott discuss consciousness and creativity, science and art.

How do we define what human consciousness is? What is it that hinders or enables creativity?

Looking at, and responding to, ideas in art, the novel and current research in neuroscience, we ask how the fundamentals of human understanding and intelligence are undergoing radical change.

Dr Sophie Scott is Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience at UCL, focusing primarily on auditory linguistic and information processes of the brain.

Will Eaves's recently published novel, Murmur, has been lauded as an exceptional experiment in form, and a daring interpretation of consciousness and the human condition.
