Join the Queer Platonic Co-Parenting group for a talk and mixer event at Second Home in Spitalfields.

“Platonic co-parenting” involve family set-ups where two or more parents have a non-romantic relationship. Our group organises events for LGBTQIA+ people who are thinking about building families in this way. Possible frameworks could be, say, a lesbian couple and a gay couple sharing parenting responsibilities, or a gay couple and a single woman. Many, many other configurations exist. The group was founded in late 2022 to fill a need among queer Londoners for community solutions for family-building. We facilitate knowledge-sharing, dream-building and connections among LGBTQIA+ people hoping to raise kids.

We’re really excited to bring this event to Second Home.

The first part of the event is open to LGBTQIA+ people and allies hoping to learn more platonic co-parenting. After a brief introduction from the team, a highly regarded barrister in family law will be sharing a talk called, “planning for co-parenting – agreements and disagreements,” in which she will be talking about parental rights and rights of the child in the context of queer platonic co-parenting. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions after the talk.

The second part of the event will be open to people who are looking to build co-parenting partnerships.
