We loved curating this event with member company This by That for a discussion surrounding what goes into the architecture of spaces that include and focus on art. We gathered to listen to an incredible cast of conversation partners that are well versed in the practice of creating cultural spaces and how experimenting with the architecture of these spaces is crucial to increase access and participation.  The discussion also covered the significance of labor and collaboration in cultural spaces – from design and construction to the art itself, exhibition presentation and conservation – and how to respect that in the design process.

Big thank you to our panelists for the evening:

John K. Chan, architect, founder and Design Director of Formation Association

Kate Yeh Chiu, designer and curator, director of Materials & Applications and faculty at USC

Priscilla Fraser, architect and curator, founder and principal of PFAAD and former Executive Director of the MAK Center for Art and Architecture

Zeina Koreitem, architect, founding partner of MILLIONS and design faculty at SCI-Arc

We look forward to bringing our community more art and architecture related programming in the coming months!
